Tom's Family Car Wash

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!! I took my 4Runner in for an oil change and wash on February 23, 2025. When I arrived, I was offered a seat shampoo and a "mini detail" for an additional charge. The total cost was quoted at $180--$100 for the detailing and $80 for the oil change. After waiting two hours just for the oil change, the technician informed me that my battery was dead and asked if I had been having issues with it. My truck started just fine that morning, so I knew something was off. The employee then tried to sell me a new battery. I called my husband, who came up to the shop, and we quickly realized what had happened--they had left my doors open and the vehicle in auxiliary mode, which drained the battery. Initially, they claimed the battery was completely dead and couldn't be jump-started, but once my husband got involved, they pushed the truck out of the bay, and he was able to jump-start it without issue. A month later (March 29th, 2025), my husband discovered that the skid plate was missing. We called and spoke with Michael, the technician who did the oil change. At first, he insisted he had put it back on. If that's true, then he did it incorrectly because it fell off. He said he would check the bay for any extra skid plates and call us back--he never did. On top of all this, the detailing was a joke. My truck still had dirt everywhere, and nothing was properly wiped down. After complaining (that day Feb 23rd), the car wash manager gave us a credit to return, but overall, the business made no real effort to make things right. No follow-ups, no accountability. This place is a complete rip-off. I do not recommend taking your vehicle here. Now, I have to pay $200-$300 to replace my skid plate. Considering taking them to small claims court purely on principle. Avoid this place at all costs.
