Shine Like Mine Detailing Garage

I have a 1990 SS 454 Chevy pick up that I have been working on for the past year. It has about a 10 year restoration on the body. I'm a motor head, not a body man so I rebuilt the engine, engine bay, rear end, and some chassis work. However, this is not about me. The truck was already pretty easy on the eyes but I wanted it to look as good as it could for what it is. I took the truck to Don Weigel at Shine Like Mine In Hutchinson Ks. Don contacted me the next day with concerns about the paint on the hood. I went to visit him and and he put his paint mil gauge at several locations on the hood to show me the thickest point was 1.9 mil. Don's concern was that he would not be able to do the paint correction on the hood with the paint being so thin. We discussed it and decided to repaint the hood.He called Dwight Siefker a friend of his at Siefker Restoration in Salina Ks. Dwight has worked on my wifes Lincoln MKX recently, so I knew he does good work. We pulled the hood and Don delivered it to him that afternoon. Don returned and continued to work on the rest of the truck. I brought the truck home 3 days later looking amazing, even without the hood, but I couldn't wait to see it with the hood finished. He called and told me him and Dwight would be delivering the hood on Thursday. We put the hood on and I think you will see for yourself the work these guys do when you look at the pictures. Keep in mind, the ceramic coating can't be applied on the hood for another 3 weeks or so. I am extremely happy with the work the both of these guys done and can't wait to see it when it is complete .
